Nota de la variación en la riqueza específica de mamíferos entre áreas de conservación y de aprovechamiento forestal en la Sierra Madre de Oaxaca

In Oaxaca there are several areas with forest management, the Capulalpam de Mendez, District of Ixtlán is one of them. This economic activity can affect mammals diversity directly. An evaluation was carried out by transecting this richness in two areas, one preserved and another in forest management. We obtained a list of medium and large mammals in these two areas, where the presence of four species of felidae (66% of those registered to Oaxaca) was important and three of them, including the Cougar (Puma concolor) in the area of forest management. The analysis of the data allows us to infer that the combination of forest management areas with those related to conservation contributes so that the decline of mammal species is not as affected in other sites of OaxacaPublished
